Bwindi Plus School.
The school was started in 2015 by Mr Agaba Moses, who grew up an orphan. He lost his mother when he was 3 years old and some parents in the community raised him up. He looked at how he can appreciate the community that cared for him, by starting up a school so as to also help disadvantaged children in the community.
Moses lost one of his best friends when they were crossing river Munyanga going to school. He kept it in mind to start up a school when he grows up to support his fellow orphans without crossing rivers, busy roads going to school.
The other reason he wanted to start school was Job creation to the community members. Many people in the community are employed by the school now.
Although as listed above, we have got support from individuals and organizations, but we still have many challenges that are still holding us back.
- Limited salaries for teachers. Sometimes salaries delay and teachers get disappointed
- Inadequate accommodation for all the teachers
- Weather changes sometimes affects the school programs where some kids from far (as far as Congo, since we are close to border) do not turn up when it rains.
- We lack hostels for the children to make a boarding section.
